Mumbai – formerly known as Bombay is said to be the ‘Gateway of India’ to the rest of the world. Day 1 : ARRIVE MUMBAI

Welcome to your ‘Bollywood Tour’ tour! On arrival at the airport / railway station in Mumbai, you will be transferred to your hotel.

The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this contemporary city.

Day 2 : IN MUMBAI

After breakfast, proceed to the Bollywood Studio tour including visit to the specially created studio where one can watch a documentary on the Bollywood industry and the 100 years of Bollywood cinema with Bollywood style dance and brief information on the studio.

Later, visit the live shooting set to peek at the behind-the-scenes activities of the movie making and see the technicians at work. If possible, look into the star’s makeup rooms and have your picture taken with a Bollywood actor. Further, visit Bollywood Cafe and see the pre design sets like police station, Raj Mahal, Central jail, hospital, bank, office etc. irrespective whether the shooting is happening or not. Arrive at the Bollywood museum where one can get a glimpse of the famous Bollywood actor’s posters and photographs after which you will be escorted to an air-conditioned dance hall with decorated stage and music system in bollywood style. Bollywood wall of frame is specially made and designed as per the tourist attraction.

Also visit the Rehman Wall of Frame and Bollywood broadway. One can also get an opportunity to sing a song of their choice. Later, proceed to Mumbai film city including visit to famous locations in filmcity viz. helipad, lake, court, church, temple, famous Reserve garden and Khandala bridge where one can get a glimpse of the live shooting from the bus overlook film / TV serial sets and explore the interesting and unknown facts of bollywood. Also visit the outdoor studio location.

The rest of the evening is at leisure for independent activities.

Day 3 : IN MUMBAI

Today, enjoy a half day city tour of Mumbai including visit to places like the Gateway of India, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (Prince of Wales Museum), Jehangir Art Gallery, Marine Drive, Taraporewala Aquarium and Chowpathy Beach. The Gateway of India is a historic monument in the city of Mumbai that was built to commemorate the visit of His Majesties King George V and Queen Mary to India in 1911. It is located on the waterfront in the Apollo Bunder area in South Mumbai and stands like a sentinel over the great Arabian Sea guarding the Indian mainland.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, formerly known as Prince of Wales Museum, is one of the most significant museum and a heritage structure in Mumbai. This museum was built to commemorate the visit of the then Prince of Wales (who later became King George V) to India. It showcases several collections of ancient artworks, sculptures and artifacts in its galleries. The Jehangir Art Gallery was established by Sir Cowasji Jehangir at the request of K. K. Hebbar and Homi Bhabha. It is the most prestigious and modern venue for the Indian artists in the city.

Marine Drive is a wide street along the coast overlooking the beautiful Arabian sea and is curved like the alphabet C. Marine Drive is also referred to as ‘Queen’s necklace’, because when it is viewed at night from an elevated point, the street lights lining the boulevard resemble a string of shining pearls or diamonds in a necklace.

Taraporewala Aquarium is India’s oldest aquarium and one of the city’s main attractions.

Chowpatty Beach is one of the oldest seafronts which is famous for its bazaars and street food.

Historical Aurangabad 04 Days / 03 Nights

Aurangabad means ‘Built by the Throne’. Being a tourist hub, the city has many historical monuments of great importance. Aurangabad named after Aurangzeb, the Mughal Emperor, is a city in Maharashtra. The Ajanta and Ellora caves are specimens of the rich cultural heritage of ancient India and are declared as the World heritage site by UNESCO. Many beautiful Mughal monuments can be seen in Aurangabad. It is because of the fact that the city lies on a major trade route that connects India’s sea and land ports to the Deccan area which is known as the ‘Silk Route’.

Day 1 : ARRIVE AURANGABAD

Day 2 : IN AURANGABAD

Today, you will proceed on a full day excursion to Ajanta Caves – the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Aurangabad.. This caves have 30 rock cut Buddhist cave monuments, which date from the 2nd century BCE to about 480 or 650 CE and are the finest examples of artistic sculptures found in India. The basic designs of the caves are called ‘Chaitya grihas’ and ‘Viharas’. En route you can shop for the famous Himroo Shawls and Paithani Saris.

Day 3 : IN AURANGABAD

Today, enjoy a full day city tour of Aurangabad including a visit to the Ellora Caves, Siddarth Garden, Panchakki (Water Wheel), followed by a visit to Bibi Ka Maqbara and Daulatabad fort.

Ellora Caves locally known as ‘Verul Leni’ is an UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aurangabad. Built in the Rashtrakuta dynasty, the Ellora caves are the zenith of rock cut architecture, carved on the vertical facade of the Charanandri Hills.

Established in 1984, the Siddhartha Garden and Zoo are a popular tourist spot in Aurangabad. This zoo consists of wide open spaces, towering trees of different varieties and animal enclosures in the midst of the city.

Panchakki, otherwise known as the water mill was built during the early years of the 17th century. The mill used to grind grains for the pilgrims.

The monument Bibi Ka Maqbara also called as the ‘Dakkhani Taj’ was built by Azam Shah, son of Aurangzeb, in 1678 AD in memory of his mother Rabia. This memorial is built of sandstone with plastered walls and has a marble dome. It has an flowery wall around with an entrance which provides the best view of the memorial. The enclosure of the tomb is made of marble and is octagonal.

The Daulatabad fort was built in the 12th century by a chieftain and was annexed from him later on. This fort is 200 feet high and built on the top of a pyramid shaped hill. Later the fort was renamed as Devgiri. Overnight in Aurangabad.
